Discover Ruaha National Park: Tanzania’s Hidden Wilderness Treasure

Nestled in south-central Tanzania, Ruaha National Park is one of the country’s most pristine and awe-inspiring wilderness areas. As Tanzania’s second-largest national park, it spans an impressive 20,226 sq. km, offering a vast and untamed landscape teeming with wildlife and dramatic scenery. The park's name comes from the Hehe word "Luhava," meaning "great river," a fitting tribute to the life-giving Great Ruaha River that flows through it.

Climate & Seasons

Ruaha experiences a single rainy season from late November to May, with annual rainfall ranging between 500 and 800mm. The dry season, from June to October, is ideal for game viewing as animals gather around the river and remaining water sources. The park’s altitude ranges from 750 to 1,868 meters, providing diverse climates and habitats.
